The week in Vingåker: art camps, theatre and the last weeks of summer holiday
Week 32 starts with art camps at Säfstaholm and the Activity Bus at Läppe, continues with family theatre at Folkets Park and summer music on Thursday, and looks ahead to Pride on 22 August. Lunch menus have switched to week 32.
Why week 32 is worth following
Week 32 is the first full August week. Art camps at Säfstaholm Castle run Monday to Thursday, the Activity Bus continues its summer holiday schedule, and Folkets Park fills the evenings with the family theatre The Good Person. At the same time, summer music at Österåker Church and a garden concert at Båsenberga await on Thursday.
Lunch menus have switched to week 32. Joan’s lists cheese-filled meatloaf, cobbler’s box and chicken in curry according to the lunch page. Humlegården’s restaurant serves dishes including isterband, salmon pudding and roast neck according to the municipal PDF.
Here we gather the most important points from the week gone by and what awaits from 3 to 9 August — plus an early reminder of Pride in Vingåker on 22 August. Everything is based on verified sources in our calendar and the municipality’s schedule.
What was on the programme 27 July–2 August
The past week closed July with the Activity Bus water week and a weekend with parish day and the industrial museum. We cannot confirm visitor numbers or atmosphere, but several local events had fixed dates according to the municipal event calendar and the Activity Bus week 31 schedule.
Monday 27 July had the Activity Bus at Högsjö bathing place and read-with-a-dog at the library. Tuesday and Wednesday were water games and Ironman according to the schedule, while Thursday combined a water slide at Lytterstabadet, summer music at Österåker Church and a garden concert at Båsenberga.
Saturday 1 August had Österåker Parish Day by the school in Österåker 10:00–14:00, and Thorslundkagge’s factory shop in Högsjö opened the same day. Sunday 2 August had a guided tour and summer café at Högsjö Industrial Museum at 14:00.
Monday to Wednesday: art camps, bus and theatre
Week 32 starts with the Activity Bus at Läppe bathing place on Monday 3 August 11:00–15:00. The same day art camps begin at Säfstaholm Castle: children and young people aged 8–16 at 9:00–12:00, and an LSS camp for adults at 14:00–17:00, Monday to Thursday. Registration via Sensus is required and places are limited.
The library also has read-with-a-dog on Monday 3 August 14:00–17:00 — drop-in for ages 6–17. Tuesday 4 August has the Activity Bus pentathlon by Sävstarinken, forest bathing for carers at the Båsenberga trail at 17:00, and the opening of The Good Person at Folkets Park at 18:00. The play runs Monday to Thursday 4–7 August.
Wednesday 5 August is quieter in the calendar between theatre evenings. For anyone wanting an ongoing activity, HittaUt remains until 30 September and Säfstaholm’s summer exhibitions until 27 September.
Thursday to Sunday: music, barbecue and weekend culture
Thursday 6 August is the week’s densest music day. The Activity Bus has table tennis at the youth centre 11:00–15:00. At 18:00 Johanna and Thomas Widén perform summer music at Österåker Church — You have heard it before — with free entry. At 19:00 Thyra & Magnolia Road close the summer garden concert series at Båsenberga Hotell, also free.
Friday 7 August is the last evening of The Good Person at Folkets Park. The same day Österåker heritage association hosts a barbecue evening at the heritage centre at 17:00 — bring your own food and drink; the fire is provided. At 18:00 there is a music quiz at Hjälmargården.
Saturday 8 August has theatre at Säfstaholm Castle at 13:00 — A royal night in Vingåker with Victoria Enefors — and a gospel concert with Elvis songs at Hjälmargården at 18:00. Both according to the municipal calendar with free entry. The Activity Bus continues next week with kabaddi, cake baking and a slide before the football tournament on 14 August.
Further ahead in the calendar: Pride in Vingåker on Saturday 22 August. Gathering in Tennisparken at 13:30, parade towards Säfstaholm at 15:00, programme in Slottsparken.

August takes over in Vingåker
Week 32 is a good week to choose by pace. If you want a creative midday session, the castle art camps work. If you want an evening without much planning, theatre at Folkets Park and Thursday’s music fit. The weekend suits anyone wanting to combine a barbecue in Österåker with theatre or gospel.
