Walking in Båsenberga – a woodland trail and a picnic stop

Woodland and clearings surround Båsenberga recreation area, close to the golf course and ski slope. You can spend a little time outdoors here without setting off on a long hike. Bring a flask and make the walk your outing for the day.

A 2.5-kilometre circuit

The illuminated trail is 2.5 kilometres long, with a woodchip surface. It is a good choice for a manageable walk or a short run. Lighting is on daily from 16:00 to 23:00, leaving time for a walk after work too.

Make time for a break

The recreation area has an outdoor gym and two shelters with barbecue sites. Try a few exercises or sit down with your picnic. If you want to light a fire, observe any fire ban. There is a dry toilet by the parking area; the Naturkartan link below includes directions to the site.

Work on the route to Igelbålen

Access along the road between Båsenberga and Igelbålen nature reserve may currently be difficult because of conservation work. Follow signs on site and choose the illuminated trail for a short outing. Our report on the work is linked below.

Igelbålen is usually a longer outing through woodland and wetland to a small lake. The marked circuit is around 4 kilometres from the ski club car park, making it a separate walk from the illuminated trail. Save that extension until access has been clarified. In winter, ski tracks are prepared at Båsenberga – choose a walking route away from prepared tracks then.
