A rainy day with children in Vingåker

Let the children choose a book each and settle down for a story together. At Bondegatan 6, Vingåker Library has a children’s section for reading, making things and playing. A rainy-day outing here can be simple and inexpensive: visiting is free, and one good story may be all you need.

Books and games for older children

Older children have their own section with sofas, non-fiction and easy-read books. Books are available in different languages, and the library also lends board games. Ask the staff for a recommendation if the shelves leave you spoilt for choice.

For something more social, there are story-reading sessions for children aged 0–6 and their adults on selected dates. Bookworms is the club for 10–13-year-olds, with reading, conversation, games and crafts. Register for the club at biblioteket@vingaker.se; the library’s calendar gives activity times and venues.

When there is a film that fits

A film can make another indoor outing when the cinema’s programme suits your children’s ages. Vingåkers Bio screens films in autumn and spring. Choose a screening from its own programme, where times and ticket details are listed for each film.

Before you go

The library’s website lists current opening hours. For questions, call 0151-191 90. If you had already packed your swimming bag, Vingåkersbadet has been closed for renovation since 14 May 2026. The municipality’s update of 2 October says work is continuing, but the overall timetable remains uncertain.
