Swimming spots in Vingåker – find your kind of beach
Bring swimwear, a towel and something for a picnic. The lakes around Vingåker offer different kinds of beach days, depending on where you head. These four spots cover shallow shores for children, a swim from a jetty and a place where dogs can take a dip too.
Lyttersta for shallow-water play
Lytterstabadet, on Lake Tisnaren, has gently shelving shores. It is a good choice for children who enjoy playing at the water’s edge. A playground, picnic tables and a barbecue area provide a break between swims. There is also a bathing ramp.
Jetties in Högsjö and Österåker
At Högsjöbadet you swim in Lake Grävsjön from several jetty sections, close to the village. There is a playground and picnic tables, and the municipality lists a kiosk and restaurant nearby. For a smaller sandy beach, try Hullabadet in Österåker, on Lake Öljaren, with a jetty and swimming raft.
Läppe for a longer beach day
Läppebadet sits on Lake Hjälmaren. The neighbouring Hjälmargården campsite has an ice cream café, a restaurant and activities for a longer outing. The beach also has a playground and barbecue area. Of these four spots, Läppe is the one the municipality lists for dog swimming; follow the signs showing where dogs may enter the water.
Useful details
The municipality lists parking, toilets and picnic tables at all four spots. Changing rooms are available at Lyttersta, Högsjö and Hullabadet, but not Läppe. Cafés and other services may keep seasonal hours. Find map links on the municipal beach pages, and sampling results and algae information on the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management website. Read the latest updates before swimming and follow any local warning signs.
